A little bit about us

Welcome to the loaf.We are a busy and vibrant artisan bakery, delicatessen and café in Crich, Derbyshire.

We opened way back in October 2008 (oh how the time has flown!) Since then, we have expanded our bakery and supply to over 30 other businesses, attend farmers' and food markets five days a week, run pizza nights every Wednesday evening, run bread baking courses on Sundays and even cater for events such as weddings and birthdays... all this whilst still baking seven days a week, you could say we like to keep ourselves busy.

Just like many other artisan bakeries, we are also proud members of the Real Bread Campaign . We are among of the alliance of bakers whom are committed to producing proper, additive and enhancer free bread at an affordable price.

Wednesday night is pizza night

Come and enjoy delicious fresh pizzas either in the comfort of the café or to take away. We are open from 6pm until 9pm every Wednesday. Tempt your taste buds with a delicious special pizza which changes every week. On Wednesday 25 July the weekly special is our meat feast. You can see what I have got planned for the weekly special by looking just below at the schedule . If you have any suggestions for new pizzas to try, just drop me an email on enquiries@theloaf.co.uk ! We are regularly fully booked, so do phone to reserve your table if you fancy a pleasant evening of good food and convivial company.
